07/22/2104: The History of the Eagles tour kicked off last July and has been raking in the dough ever since. The band's trek has grossed over $145 million since then, performing for millions of fans in both America and Europe. The Eagles are one of the most succesful bands as far as touring is concerned, grossing $702,110,908 since they last reunited in 1994. Their mangaer, Irving Azoff, says that the demand for live performances from these legends has only grown and will continue to grow.
06/24/2014: When the Eagles played in London this past weekend, there were no surprises. They knew what their fans came to hear and they gave them over three hours of just that: the Eagles Classics. After making the documentary of the history of their career, the band's manager suggested they replicate that evolution on stage. Fans have been overwhelmingly pleased with the Eagles' performances, and the classic band is happy to give their fans what they want to hear. As the band members have said, the listener is their number one priority.
06/15/2014: The classic American rock band is scheduled to debut in New Zealand next year for the first time in 20 years. While the band members may be aging, the quality of their music is only getting better, as lead member Don Henley comments “We take good care of ourselves. We are all at an age where we don't care anything about partying any more. Our primary concern is to put on the best show we can possibly do for our fans”. The band's The History of the Eagles tour has been extraordinarily successful, and they are very excited to pay a visit to New Zealand next year.
The Eagles are without a doubt one of the most successful rock bands of all time. To date they have scored seven #1 songs, and Their Greatest Hits (1971–1975), which collects the best of their earliest years, is one of the biggest-selling albums in history. Few musical acts were more popular during the 1970s than the Eagles, and their fame has not lessened with time.
The band began somewhat inauspiciously when the four musicians who would make up the group’s original lineup—Glenn Frey, Don Henley, Randy Meisner, and Bernie Leadon—were each invited to play on Linda Ronstadt’s third solo album. Ronstadt’s record would be released to an indifferent public in 1972, but the experience encouraged the four men to form a band, soon dubbed the Eagles. The initial product of this collaboration, the album Eagles (1972), resulted in three Top 40 singles. The next two albums, Desperado (1973) and On the Border (1974), solidified their standing as a major force in pop music, but it was their fourth release, One of These Nights (1975), that made them superstars. This album sold millions of copies and launched three singles into the Top 10.
Hotel California (1976)—for which Joe Walsh replaced founding member Leadon—was also a smash hit; the title song has become the Eagles’ most famous tune. But constant touring and the stresses of fame took its toll on the band, which broke up acrimoniously not long after the release of 1979’s The Long Run. The four individual Eagles pursued a variety of solo projects during the 1980s. To the surprise of many, the band finally got back together for a 1994 tour, which led to the release of a live album, appropriately titled Hell Freezes Over.
The Eagles continue to tour, and speculation is rampant that they may retire from the stage in the near future. It could very well be your last chance to see this legendary band, so be sure to get your Eagles tickets here at FrontRowTickets.com.
